Complaint / review text:
In December 2013, Chase sold my mortgage to Carrington. They stated that there was a shortage in my escrow. I requested to know where it was from considering my taxes and insurance had both gone down. They could not tell me. So my payment went from $550.00 a month to $673.00 and then two months after the first increase, I now get a letter today stating that they are raising my payment yet again do to some escrow shortage and now claim I am short $1006.51 and my new payment is going to be $731.00.
I again called and they said they made a supplement payment and that left my escrow short but could not tell me where the supplement was paid (taxes, insurance, etc). I also see there is a hazardous insurance they are requiring on top of my insurance I already pay. I never had these problems with Chase and in fact got surplus checks back from them. I guess they are trying to make a single mom lose her home.
