Maybe we should be more careful not to accuse an entire company for the problems that a few store managers are causing. Macy's corporate is very careful about making sure everyone gets fair breaks.
I get a lunch and two paid breaks every day. I never work more than 3 hours without rest. I am not too happy with my pay, but its not all too uncommon for companies to pay part timers minimum wage and im at least getting a little more than that. I love my management team thoguh, and there is no pressure to open accounts.
Of course they encourage us to, and reward us with a little prize if we do, but Ive never once had a problem with my managers for not opening enough accounts even though I'm close to the bottom of the list for opening credit accounts.
All-in-all, what I'm trying to say is, it's definately not Macy's corperate that is creating these "horrific work conditions" so many people are talking about, its your managers that arent following corperate standards. They probably wont last too much longer because when corperate audits they check to make sure the work conditions are safe and clean and that the managers are doing their best to follow corperates standards.
