Complaint / review text:
My wife and I have been looking to buy a used car so that we have two vehicles. We went to Big 3 Preowned back in June because they offer financing to everyone with an advertised 100% approval.
We were told by the finance manager (Alex) that because I was new to the country (canada) that I would need a cosigner (so much for the 100% approved financing), so my father in law offered to do it for us. We filled out all the paperwork and were told that we would have an answer the next day. Two days later we still have no answer so we call them and are told that the finance manager got sick but that he would be in later that day and that we should call back later to find out about our approval. We called back three more times that day and still nothing so we went to pick up our paperwork from them (copies of i. D., proof of income, blank check for auto payments, etc.) and they refused to give it back to us. I got it back after telling them that I would get the police to come and get it for me.
So, last week, still searching for a car, we decide to give them another shot now that my wife is back to working full time. She filled out the credit application and was told to call back the next day. Once again, same problems. Nothing but problems with the finance manager. He once again did not return our calls to tell us what we were approved for and when my wife finally got ahold of him he said "I don't even want to deal with you people!" Why is this? Neither my wife nor I have bad credit, we just do not have any established, but their ad shows they can handle first time buyer.in fact, some of my wife's family members have gotten cars from them even though they have very poor credit. It is not an issue of money either because combined, my wife and I make almost $75,000 a year so I don not know why they don't want to deal with us.
In closing, we are very upset with the way we have been treated and feel that everyone should be aware of the problems we have had at Big 3. Hope fully upon reading this, other people will decide to buy elswhere so that they too don't get the runaround.
P.S. Our salesman (Wally) was very helpful but his hands are tied because he doesn't handle the financing.
