I rented a Mitsubishi Nativa from Fox Rent A Car in Panama from 07/16/2014 to 08/07/2014. The service provided Fox was absolutely deplorable.
Fox charged a premium price for the rental, but provided low quality service. The vehicle was dirty when they delivered it to us, the tank was nearly empty and the vehicle was severely lacking in maintenance. The tires on the vehicle should have been discarded long ago as the treads were worn almost completely on all four tires. Additionally, the tires were dry-rotten and cracking.
On 07/31/2014, we had planned to go on a long distance trip with the vehicle, but discovered that the tread on the left rear tire had split and a segment of the tread was loose, therefore the tire was clearly unsafe for highway travel. However; when I attempted to replace the cracked tire with the spare, I was shocked to discover that the spare was worn to the point where it had no tread at all. I was forced to take the vehicle to their maintenance shop where they took 4 hours to replace the two of the bad tires and the spare with three used tires that really weren't much better than the ones that were replaced. We were unable to use the car that day after having to take it in for the clearly overdue repairs, yet Fox refused to compensate us for the day lost due their negligence.
It is unbelievable that a rental car company would charge a premium rate for a car rental on a vehicle that clearly lacks maintenance resulting in a car that is unsafe to drive.
Fox rent a car in Panama shows a total disregard for the safety and convenience of its customers.
As of 12/29/2014, Fox Rent-A-Car has ignored all of my requests for resolution of this problem. They have not responded in writing, nor do they answer phone calls.
This is clearly not a company interested in keeping its customers. I definitely would not recommend them.
