Complaint / review text:
I had rims chromed here. I paid $479 to have them chromed. $90 each wheel for bearing, $75 shipping each way. $100 to have the new rims put on the bike.
So as you can see I am into this for almost 1K. The rims are pitting and all they are willing to do is charge me $260 to re chrome them, plus I have to pay for the new bearings, labor and shipping, almost another $700. Needless to say this guy will not get another dime of my money, and will chalk this up as a dumb decision on my part for dealing over the internet. My email thread is below, follow the transaction from the bottom up. You can decide for yourself if you want to do business with this guy.

Our offer is still available
$260 plus shipping
But we have to rechrome your original wheels
On Thursday, August 21,2014 1:44 PM,
I have not heard back from you since 7/30/14
I am wondering if you are sticking with your original ($260) offer to correct this situation or if you have considered what I have suggested below?

I am insulted by your comments that the bike is not cleaned.in fact this is a 2000 Road King in Mint condition.
The bike is 14 years old, and as you can see by the pictures is very well taken care of. It has NEVER been ridden in the rain. Mainly because of the time it takes to clean it. It has always been garage kept. I use Mother's chrome polish on all of my chrome parts and have never had negative affects from it, again evident from the pictures. This bike is polished and waxed regularly down the the heads of the nuts and bolts.
I will stand corrected on the mileage, as I was looking at the trip odometer which rolled at 1000 miles. But I have also included the receipt from when the wheels were installed (35,685 miles) and the current odometer reading (37633 miles)
Which means I have put 1948 miles on those rims and tires (also evident by the fact the nubs are still on the rubber, see picture)
I can appreciate the risks involved in chroming old parts, you and I both assume those risks.
I will have to pay to have them rims removed and replaced ($100)
I would also be willing to pay the shipping charges ($100)
I will also have to pay for new bearings ($200)
I would ask that you treat this situation as one of your normal exchanges that you have on eBay now for $495.
I would ask that you send me a another set of rims and I will return these as part of the exchange. I have already paid $479 to have these rims chromed.
I cannot remove these rims, ship them out and wait for them to be returned. I have to take the bike to the shop to have the rims replaced, I cannot let it sit there for 3-4 weeks without wheels while I wait for shipping to California, plating and shipping back. The shop would charge me storage, and I would be without the bike for a month.
Again, I believe we share in the risks involved here, and I am willing to eat $400 in the costs involved to correct this situation, I only ask that you honor your work and your share of the responsibility.

Been out of town for a couple of weeks, sorry for the delay
Our chrome warranty only covers blistering, chipping and pealing of the chrome, Are warranty does not cover pitting.
Pitting is cause by the casting on the aluminum, this is due to weather, moisture, lack of cleaning of the wheels, using the wrong solution to clean the wheels etc..
After reviewing your pictures its hard to believe you only put 1000 miles on it.
From the pictures the wheels look like they don't get much cleaning
If you do wash the wheels what are you using to wash them?
Is your bike garage kept? Or outdoors?
We are willing to help, we could offer to redo both wheels at $130 per wheel ($260 for both wheels)
Have not heard back from you since sending the picture.
I want to make sure you received them
Here are a few pictures,
From our prior emails, it looks like we chrome your original wheels right?
Can you email us picture to of the wheels, so we could know what your talking about.
On Saturday, June 28,2014 10:03 PM,
My rims are pitting real bad, can you explain the warranty process to me?
I have only put about 1000 miles on the bike since having the rims chromed, and have never even
Ridden in the rain. I have pictures I can send to you.
