My husband went to Eldridge Iowa to pick up a lease truck and do orientation with CRST Malone. They told him, while he was here in TN, that he would have a bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years!
The tires were included which meant he would have new tires on the truck during the lease... And that pay would be between 1.65 to 1.85 a mile. They also gave a list of things that would be taken out every week, but made it sound as if after all the deductions that 75% of the pay would go to my husband.
Orientation pay was also promised. Once he got there... It was all LIES... They made him sign a contract for the truck, sight unseen, the truck was not even located in Iowa, they had to travel to IN terminal to even see the trucks!!!
The deductions to the pay received turned out to be way over the $700 quoted to him! They say they are owners of the truck, but are not allowed to bring such owned truck to the house... They expect the spouse to go over 60 miles one way to pick up trucker to go home every week... (which I wonder how that would go 2. Bet the home time is NOT weekly either).
Once my husband got to IN to actually see this leased truck, he discovers that ALL the tires are bald, he said that in orientation they were promised, 2 virgins, and 4 recaps... He said that DOT would have fined him for the tires that were on the truck, anyway... Those promises were not upheld... They refused to give him tires... Until he had a blowout... Then they would send the tire truck out to him on the road to change the tires.
He said they interrupted his inspection of the truck to side track him. There was damage to the right side of the truck, cracks under neath the headlights, a damaged step to the passenger side of the truck. And a damaged exhaust, to the stack pipe. He has had carbon monoxide poison from this before, so he asked them to repair these things and to change the BLACK OIL in the truck... He was told that none of this would be done for him.
They said if he was not happy with the truck to take a comdata check, and get on the bus... They called a taxi for him, made him think that they were paying for the bus ticket, and sent him on his way! The comdata check was for 40 dollars, and he had to pay the other 50.
CRST did not pay any orientation pay to any of these guys who were in orientation with my husband. And my whole point is... If they will give you a piece of S truck to make lease payments on that has over 700,000 miles on it, that won't even pass DOT inspections, and refuse to fix it to start with, what makes you think they will honor the bumper to bumper warranty down the road when you really need them to!!!
