I was shocked to find the number of entries on this web site in regards to the Ford 5.4 Triton blowing out spark plugs. My 99 E150 blew the #2 plug with 80,000. The plug blew within 60 days of the dealer, Jerome Duncan in Sterling Heights now doing business as Suburban Ford in the same city, replaceing a blown spark plug coil on the same cylinder.

The first repair cost me $675. When I had the vehicle towed back to the dealer, they claimed it was not their fault and the head would have to be replaced for $4000. They also claimed that Ford was un aware of any problem. I have owned cars for over 25 years and never had an engine blow a spark plug out of the head. This incident happened last year.

I stumbled onto the number of complaints while trying to find information on a separate problem with the vehicle. It seems, with all of the complaints Ford should be acknowledging the design flaw and repairing the vehicles. I have since stopped purchasing Ford vehicles, which I was a loyal Ford consumer for 25 years.
