In July 2008, I ran a Carfax report prior to purchasing a 2006 Honda Accord VIN #. The car fax indicated no issue reported under "Total Loss Check" & "Accident Check". As a result, I purchased the car in July 2008. Upon recently deciding to sell my car, I ran a Carfax report to present to potential buyers. The Carfax now indicates "Accident/Damage" on 3/02/08 and "Total Loss Vehicle" reported on 5/20/08. I have a copy of both Carfax; the one I ran prior to purchasing the car on 7/28/08 which does not show the "Accident/Damage" and "Total Loss Vehicle" and the one I ran recently on 4/8/12.
I attempted to submit a claim via the Carfax site but it appears that it is not going through. I also attempted to contact the Carfax Customer Services division via phone at 1-703-934-2664 but I received an automated response requesting that I submit the information electronically. Can a representative of Carfax please resolve this issue and get back to me concerning this as soon as possible? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
