GM will not cover the damage to my car, a 2011 Camaro RS, when my side airbags deployed after hitting the edge of a pothole traveling 58mph. They told me my Camaro lost stability and believed it would be involved in a rollover so it deployed my side curtain air bags. I have hit multiple potholes and speed bumps going much faster and much slower and never experienced this problem before. I have also hit the same pothole that deployed my airbags this time and never had this happened. When I asked why it did not happen sooner since I've hit this pothole before, they would not comment except to say that any other incident is not the incident in questions.
To me it makes no sense. I had a 2008 Cobalt LT that was at a dead stop on the freeway when a driver of a truck did not notice traffic had stopped and plowed into me so hard I hit the car in front of me. My Cobalt was totaled and had considerable amount of damage and my airbags did not deploy in this accident. But, a pothole would cause my side curtain airbags to deploy? I'm confused and very frustrated. Any ideas?
