2008 Chevy Malibu - Sudden loss of power steering while driving on interstate at 70 miles an hour! Flash of "power steering message" on dash. Very difficult to steer off of highway. I took it immediately to the dealership where I purchased my car. Was told it was a recall, although I had NOT been notified. Had a new module put in, and drove it home. Driving to work that night, the power steering went out AGAIN, I almost lost control as the roads were snow covered and slippery in addition to loss of steering. Returned to dealership, and now I am being told it has to have entire steering column replaced to the tune of $800.00 that I do not have! This car has had steering jerking, and unsteadiness since purchase, and I now read that I am not alone! Where is the recall to have this replaced before many lose a loved one in an accident where driver loses power steering and thus loses control of vehicle! I am livid! In addition to getting this news from the dealership, I have to deal with a pompous as the "service advisor".
