Complaint / review text:
We were driving down I-94 north going back to lacrosse wisconsin. The front drivers tire blows out. Once we get the car pulled over, I look at the front tire and it looks like a slug was shot through it. I looked down at the other back drivers side tire and it has a bubble on it like its about to blow out. After this, I try to find the spare, but there was none. So I don't really know what I can do. I can't take 2 tires off the vehicle to take them to get them replaced with my jack. (They have no spare or jack in this new vehicle) now I'm stuck on the side of the road.
The vehicle has 12,000 miles on it. I got a ride and got a replacement for 1 tire and drove it with the other bad tire directly back to madison, wi to the hyundai dealer on the north side of madison. They would not cover the tires. It's obvious there is a flaw in these tires. So I told them I will never be back if they don't actually warranty the tires like they promised. We could have been killed with these faulty continental tires. I am keeping them, so when they get recalled or there is a class action lawsuit, I can be added to the claim.
They don't want to cover the tires because they know they need to recall these and don't want to until someone or many people get killed. As you can see from the pictures the pierce of tire blew outward not inward just from the way the bigger piece is on the outside. The dealership told me it had to be, because of a hit to the tire. We were in the center lane of the interstate. I told them if that's the case, then there should be 1000`s of cars on the side of the road. I will be taking off the other 2 continental tires, so me or my family are not killed with the problem of these tires blowing out.
There are 100`s and 1000`s of others on the internet complaining about the same tires and same car - 2013 hyundai elantra se. Maybe this is why there is no one in their shop getting work done. No one trusts them anymore.
