For anyone who's been duped by this company like me, I feel your pain! I was so angry today when I learned they'd taken £44 out of my account without permission.
It's not obvious at all that your 'signing up to a VIP membership' at checkout, otherwise this wouldn't have happened to so many people. It IS practically a scam and it so unethical, from someone who has worked in retail and online selling for a long time, this is not the way companies should do business.in any case, once a customer realises their 'mistake' (if you can even call it that), and changes their mind, why would the company refuse to refund??? No other reputable online site would do this?
This is why 'cooling off periods' are in place - to protect consumers from companies like this. It's completely outrageous. ANYWAY, the reason I'm writing this is to say DON'T DROP IT, they will tell you they won't refund but they will.
I've badgered them with emails all day and started a case via paypal - who have just ruled in my favour and the money has been returned to me in full. Please keep at it until you get your money back, it's just so wrong!!
