Complaint / review text:
Yarn manufacturers should not be allowed to sell skeins of yarn with knots throughout where the machine ties onto a new section. Those skeins should not be sold at regular price but marked as seconds or labeled as irregular skeins.
I made an afghan for a friend and it has two knots in it due to the manufacturer's "we are allowed by law to have one knot per skein". This should not be allowed. This allowance by law ruined the look of the afghan and as you knitters know, hours and hours of work.
I am going to contact my congressman to find out what part of consumer affairs to compain to. The yarn company responded by agreeing to replace the two skeins of yarn that had the knots in them; nice, but that is a band-aid to the overall problem.
