This used to be my new favorite cleaners... Until today.
I'm new to the neighborhood and I started taking my uniforms to get dry cleaned at Kenney's on a pretty regular basis. The staff seemed friendly, prices were reasonable, and they could usually have my clothes ready by the next day if I requested. However, my whole opinion of this business changed the day I took a dress to be altered.
I took a dress in that had no hem and asked if they could put one on. Seemed easy enough, and they charged me $10. When I picked up the dress and wore it the next day, I realized the hem was very noticeably uneven (one side of the dress was longer than the other).
I wore the dress back to the cleaners so they could see the mistake and to drop off more clothes to be dry cleaned. The young woman working acknowledged the mistake and I asked that my $10 be refunded (obviously I didn't want them to try to fix it and ruin my dress twice!). She then told me that the only way they would refund my money is if they took the hem out! WHAT???
So let me get this straight... 1.) The only way you will refund my money is if you create MORE work for yourself by taking out your hem? 2.) What are you going to do with the hem once you remove it? Put it back in the sewing machine and resell it??? And 3.) Am I going to walk out on Foothill Blvd.in my underwear? I'm WEARING the dress genius.
Needless to say, I picked up my clothes that I WAS going to have dry cleaned there, walked out the door in my CROOKED dress, and took them down the street to another dry cleaners. The lady at the new cleaners seemed very nice and they have same day service so hopefully I can forget all about my horrific experience at Kenney's. They lost a customer they would have had for a lifetime over bad customer service and $10.
