The Sears repair system is not working. When my refrigerator (under the Master protection plan) stopped cooling and freezing I was given a repair date 5 dates from the day I called. We not only lost all of our food but had to eat out
Every night. The elementary and middle school kids also happened to be out of school for Fall Break that week which meant more eating out as they couldn't get meals at school. The $250 food spoilage claim does not cover either the food lost or money spent in restaurants waiting for the repairman.
When he did show up (late with no notice he would be late) he didn't fix it. I had unplugged it to clean it as food was spoiling and it smelled awful. It wasn't cooling and the cleaning didn't seem to get rid of the smell so I was leaving the doors open to air it out. It seemed logical as it wasn't cooling anyway and I didn't want the motor to burn up or leave it open with the light burning inside. He said his computer wouldn't be able to find out what was wrong because I had unplugged it. Why didn't somebody tell me that before! He said I had to plug it back in and wait another 24 hours for his computer to work on it. He rescheduled the appointment to come out the next day. He didn't show up the next day and when we called we were told we had to wait another 48 hours to get scheduled.
This is total. We have gone a week without our refrigerator. I never expected this kind of from Sears!
I have children to feed. We have been good customers and felt we were covered by this protection plan. But we can't get the repair done. All they do is lie to us and give us the run around.
