Complaint / review text:
I'm the second owner of a one bedroom unit I've bought in a complex and have moved in 01 March 2014. A few weeks ago by neighbor have shown me her garage where it was obviously visible that water was leaking through the walls into the garage. Shortly after that, I realized that from time to time my bathroom floor is wet due to water leaking through the tiles of the wall.
After contacting a plumber, he has confirmed that the builder (s) have used non standard pipes (plastic) even from the geyser which is totally unacceptable because it perishes after a while. According to the plumber, his business have revamped another unit in the same complex. Even the sewerage pipes are not all to whats normally used. People throughout the complex complain lately.
After sending through the quote to the developers offices, they have called me to tell me that the costs are too much but that they will send someone to fix the burst / cracked pipes. I have told them that I don't want a quick fix because it will not solve the problem in the long term. I've been in contact with an attorney who advised me that his costs will exceed the costs to fix the unit on my own costs.
Estimated costs is about R20 000
