I was a former Porter and Chester Institute student back in 2009 in Massachusetts, the teachers there were amazing, I loved them, their form of teaching was pretty good, BUT the financial office personnel were BIG jerks. To get into the program I had to take out TWO student loan because my financial aid didnt cover the full balance, the program at that time was around $16,000.
Long story short I was a month shy from graduating as a Medical assistants and these people kicked me out of the school, well better said " I couldnt sit in class" because I didnt make a payment of $365. Keep in mind at this time I was going to school Full time, I also had a job full time but had to leave it because school and work hours werent working together, on top of that I have two daughter which at that time my oldest was 3 yrs old and I had a newborn, and I had child and home expenses which I had to keep up with. These people didnt want to work anything out with me and all they told me was "well borrow the money from somebody." Which of course who the heck is going to let me borrow $365, and how Im going to pay that money back. Anyways now forwards 6 yrs down the road I'm stuck paying for a program I COULDN'T finish, my credit is bombed, my financial aid is on default, now my taxes are being taken away plus 15% of my paycheck, this is a nightmare to me, a Really big one.
If anybody is thinking about going to PCI please think twice, dont do it, you are better of going to college and getting a associates in medical assistant, you will have more chances of getting a job you love and get paid more.
A lot of job site doesn't hire Porter and Chester students because they prefer students who have a college degree in Medical Assistant. I know my sister in law was told that by a job site personnel.
