Complaint / review text:
I enrolled for online classes thru the University of Phoenix in 2010 in hopes of finding a new career. I did graduate with my Assoc. Of Science in criminal justice in 2012. Nearing the completion of those courses I started applying for various jobs with no luck. I thought that maybe I needed to further my education so I enrolled in the Bachelors program with the University of Phoenix in hopes that it would better my chances. As I neared the end of THAT degree I continued to apply to various criminal justice jobs in Texas (where I live).
To add to the disappointment of not yet finding I started calling the various offices I had previous applied to. I inquired about what other education and/or experience would be needed for the positions. The ultimate responses were that "the University of Phoenix is NOT an accredited university" therefore NOT acknowledged by the state of Texas. Needless to say I stopped my attendance with the UoP. I am still working a job that pays well below the national level of poverty and am expected to start paying the $700 per month loan payments for the next 10 years. Is there anyone who has experienced this and actually found a way to get any of this money back from this fraudulent degree program?
