I have a few concerns about my UOP experience. Ranging from lack of visibility to my account summary information, the school's student loan tactics, and the staff's level of professionalism. I recently contacted the school to obtain my account summary as online this information is not available for me to see, even though the website has an option to view your account summary. Once I contacted my financial rep, she indicated that if the information is not visible there she guess she can submit a request to have my account summary history forwarded to me in about a week or so. Is this the standard process? The school has received a large sum of money for the courses I have taken and I should at least be able to validate that amount when I see fit.
My second issue with the school is as I pay off this student loan debt I occurred while at UOP, I am struggling trying to understand why the school would opt to obtain so much more funding for me than I needed to complete the MBA program. To me I would think the school gets some sort of kick back from the lending institution. During my first conversation with the enrollment counselor for UOP. The counselor recommended I just get a general MBA. The counselor went on to tell me this would make me more marketable, how very untrue that statement was. On every interview the hiring manager always ask me what my MBA concentration was in. Me being naive and thinking the school had the student's best interest and would not steer me incorrectly. Well you live and you learn! My advice to anyone is to stay away from UOP, as you will end up with a lot of debt and a piece of worthless paper.
