Complaint / review text:
I am a student of Axia Online, the online school for University of Phoenix. I am withdrawing due to the learning platform and my not being able to absorb the material.
I have spent the last few days talking to my financial and academic advisers about how I am experiencing the school and how I need to take classes at a ground campus. Since they don't offer the course that I am taking on their ground campuses I have to transfer to a local college.
When I had finally convinced my advisers that I really do need to leave the school, they let me know that I would end up owing the school money. Despite the fact that they have the $10,000 direct student loan as well as the $5,500 from state funded financial aid.
The fact that they will be sending back loan money that I applied for and that I will still have to pay them for classes that I am dropping is something that I do not understand. The school has already paid my previous blocks with my financial aid money and it is beyond my comprehension that I can not receive the remainder of my loan money so that I can pay them and continue my education elsewhere.
I will absolutely take legal action if that is what it comes down too, but my main concern in lodging this complaint is that this school's motives, financial structure, curriculum and staff be investigated by the government and any other agency that has the power to uncover the scheme they have masked as a credible university.
