The WG150-18-Volt-Cordless-Electric trimmer shows in a infomercial that you can trim an area around the perimeter of a football field. That is an out and out lie as I have never been able to get more then 20 minutes out of one charge (I followed directions exactly on how to charge the battery as stated when purchased new) AND to get a full re-charge I have to let it charge overnight.
And secondly the unit is made so cheap that the spool cover which takes the most abuse is made of PLASTIC rather then metal and disintegrates after a very short time, thus you have to keep purchasing covers at a cost of about $7.00 to $8.00 which gets quite expensive after a while. (this should tell you something when 3rd party sites sell them in 10 packs). Thirdly I highly doubt that the landscaping company that they show using the WORX actually gave up their gas trimmers and replaced it with the WORX trimmer (it has no REAL power). Fourth, It is an overpriced toy that is good for nothing more then use on a grass area no larger then a flat 12' x 12' patch of yard and made for GRAMPS that uses it no more then once a month.
There are other minor issues as well.
So don't get rid of that gas trimmer edger because if you do you will never get the work done in one day and if you are paying someone to do your yard they will have to come back the following day (or more) to finish the trimming and edging. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Do what I did. I bought an extra battery on eBay "CHEAP" and spools of trimmer line at Home Depot when they closed them out at $1.00 ea.
(I bought 15-20 of them).
As a back up trimmer when you run out of gas with your REAL trimmer or when you want to do something quick and short (5 min.) it is OK for that, I guess.:)
