Complaint / review text:
I called Time Warner on November 4th to order the triple play package. I was going to pay $160 to cancel DirecTV because they didn't have the Lakers channel. I set an appointment for Nov 10 from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. I was told that they would waive the installation fee of $24, and that my bill would be about $140 for cable, phone, and internet, plus equipment and 4 receivers - 3 of them DVRs and 1 standard.
9:00 AM passed on November 10. I called them and they told me that my appointment was from 11:00 to 12:00 PM - red flag. I asked about my order and they said that my order was for 1 receiver installation fees, and that if I wanted 3 more receivers, I needed to make another appointment installation fees. I was also told that my bill would be about $170 a month. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but she told me that it was too bad, but she couldn't help me. I told her that they were the ones who messed up my order, and that I would overlook the price change and installation fees if they just bring me the 4 receivers that I had ordered. She said no, and that the driver only had 1 receiver in his truck. I told her to go back and listen to my call on Nov 4th so she can hear what I was promised, but she said no. I told her then that they just lost a new customer. I canceled my order. I canceled my phone with them and went to AT&T, and I'm going to cancel the internet with Time Warner. I called and had DirecTV reconnected, and got Showtime free for 6 months. I still can't watch the Lakers, but I just couldn't take that kind of service from Time Warner.
