I have an Apple iPhone 5 that is ten months old and the battery completely drains to zero after about two hours of talking. I went into the Apple store to get a new battery for it, since it was under warranty. The Apple store did a diagnostic on my battery and said it was functioning at 83%, so they told me that they would not replace it under warranty (of course, why should I expect anything different?). I told them I would be happy to purchase a battery for $80. Then they told me that a new battery wouldn't increase my talk time, even though the usage time has been declining for the past few months.

I waited an hour for an appointment, and then they were an additional half and hour late before they got to me. After about half an hour of listening to verbal salad from the Apple employee about why the battery was draining, I told them to go ahead and replace the battery and they told me that it would be another hour to replace it. I was furious. So I went to the manager and he told me that I had a software problem. I pointed out that the battery was only functioning at 80% and the phone wasn't even a year old yet. Basically he told me to pound sand if I didn't like it.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Apple and their poor customer service. You would think after spending $600 on a phone, they would at least honor their warranty and replace a battery that wasn't functioning correctly, because I am pretty sure that you should be able to get more than two hours of talk time before the phone goes completely dead. Even my old flip phone got more talk time than my iPhone 5.

I would not recommend this phone to anyone. My old iPhone 4s was better than the iPhone 5. This is the worst phone I have ever had and Apple knows they have a problem with their battery life. All my push notifications are turned off, the brightness is turned down and then they told me to turn off my location service. What is the point of having all these features if you have to turn them off to use the phone? My husband's Samsung galaxy lasts about six times as long as my iPhone 5. This is a horrible phone.
