I briefly used the Norton software on one of my laptop computers in 2011. The Norton Antivirus software frequently caused my computer to hang up and sometimes freeze. So I unloaded the software. Without any previous notice, I received an email from Norton informing me that my Norton Antivirus software subscription was automatically renewed on 12/31/2012 with the charge of $74.89 to my credit card. I tried to call the company with the number provided on the email (1-877-888-7505). I waited on the phone line for about 45 minutes before I gave up. The bot constantly asked me to stay on the line and said otherwise I would wait even longer.
Today, when I tried to call Norton with the same phone, the phone is apparently blocked by Norton. The message was "I am sorry, your call cannot be completed this time." I tried to call using my cell phone. It went through but still the same old message for waiting. I now can only hope my credit card company can dispute this charge for me. What a disgusting company Norton has become! Stay away from this company or you will be sorry for yourself.
