I recently changed medical aids and I received a medical aid membership from bonitas stating that I will be covered from the 1st October 2014 only to find that my medical account is still inactive. I called and I was informed that my account will be inactive until the 4th October because that is when bonitas will be allocating funds from their bank account. I don't understand why a process issue with bonitas should affect me. I have called a couple of times and a supervisor is yet to call and assist with this. Every time I request to speak to a supervisor they not available. They even send if I cannot wait for the 4th then I must send them my proof of payment. This was not communicated when I joined the scheme all they said was that mam you will be covered from the 1st of October, I wonder what sort of cover I have if my medical account is inactive.
So if you want to join Bonitas be prepared to be not covered for the first week of your contract but still pay the full monthly subscription on that.
