Complaint / review text:
My dad was admitted with a heart attack -ICU and was transferred to E ward on the 29th. On visiting him he looked worse than when he was in ICU. He was dehydrated with a dreadful colour. He did not have his teeth brushed or face shaved. Concerned that he was dehydrated I checked to see if the drip was working. His drip was put up at 1.30 in the afternoon of the 29th December When we visited that evening at 19.30 the drip was still full despite the tap being fully opened. My brother raised this with the evening staff, the response was -'the day staff said nothing', "we just got here and the person that was allocated to care for my dad was attending to the fourth patient allocated to him" etc. When I started shaving him and he felt warm. We called the nurse she did his temp and said it was 36.9 and went off. I started to sponge him down and he felt even warmer. We called the nurses again At this stage his temp was on the upper side of 37. It was at this time they decided to bath him and we had to leave as visiting hours was over. Nursing care was appalling.
