Complaint / review text:
I purchased glasses at this location on November 24,2014. I was attracted to the deal that was being advertised, BOGO. (Buy one, get one free). I decided on GUESS frames. I was then given the sales pitch of adding various coatings to my glasses. For my regular lenses, I chose to get glare protection because I am often working on the computer. For my sunglasses, I added polarization to help block out sunlight while driving.

I was offered a warranty but declined it because I have never damaged or lost my glasses before. The grand total was $439.93. Remember that is one set of glasses FREE! I have never paid this much for glasses in my life but I believed that I was getting a good deal. I loved both my frames. I experienced fewer headaches while working which I credited to the anti glare coating that I paid extra for.

On January 15,2015, I noticed a small speck in the middle of my right lens. I thought it was a smudge and promptly cleaned my glasses with the cloth and cleaning products that I purchased at Vision Works because they were recommended. The spot remained. I tried my best to ignore it but it was right in the middle of my line of sight and very annoying. Finally, on January 29,2015, I had enough! I went back to the same location to try to fix the problem. I assumed that there was a defect with my lenses. I was told by the sales lady that nothing was wrong with the coating and that it was a scratch. I questioned this because I was meticulous with them. I kept them in the proper case and cleaned them only with the products purchased there!

The glasses did come with a warranty that lasted for only 30 days. I was told that I would have to pay $224.98 to replace my glasses. I was horrified.in a 2-3 month period, I had spent $664.91 on one pair of glasses. They do not stand by their product and their workmanship is shady. I have purchased generic, cheap glasses with nothing added to them and wore them for years with no issues. I assumed after spending so much money on these new glasses that they would be of superior quality.

I have investigated online and noticed many reviews of people complaining about the same issue with the coatings. They last 2 or 3 months, a mysterious spot appears that will not come off and Vision Works will blame the customer. People are spending $600, $700, $1000 to get the problems fixed. This is a major ripoff! I recommend purchasing your glasses somewhere else. If you must purchase there, make sure you purchase a warranty! It lasts a year and they will only replace your glasses once. They are also not a member of the BBB. Buyer beware!
