I purchased the Jitterbug for my mother. She is 93, has memory issues, and lives in an assisted living facility. Because she is home for a week or more at a time, and stays indoors, this phone would lose connection with the GreatCall system. My Link application would then report that the phone may be off or discharged, and location or movement data would not be available. Simply going to the doctor or other travel would not reset the connection. It was necessary to cycle the phone off and on in order to reset. Upshot is that it did not work for us. It is not like an iPhone as it uses GPS only, not cellular triangulation to determine the phone's location, and that is why it disconnects if it does not receive a satellite link for an extended period of time. For this system to work, the person with the phone must go out and about frequently enough for a satellite connection to occur.
