I took three prescriptions in due to a chest infection. My doctor prescribed an antibiotic, cough medicine and a refill on my pain medication. I waited and they took my prescription, I waited on-site 15 minutes and when they called me, they said they could not access the co-pay information from my insurance company. I needed my medication, so I asked if I could pay cash and then when the computers were working if they could reimburse me. She said that would be fine and also said that she would set me up with a text messaging system that would alert me when it was ready for pickup. So, I left and within 20 minutes, I received 3 text messages, one stating I was signed up, the next a follow up to the sign up, and the third saying my prescription was not ready for pickup. Then about an hour later, I received a text saying my prescription was ready. This is now 4 text messages later. I went back to the pharmacy after being home, sick and I was told that they were not ready. So I was upset and said then why did they text me. They said they will personally call my insurance. So I waited another 20 minutes and then paid cash, only because she assured me I would be reimbursed when the insurance comes back with the response.

I went home, with only one of my medications. This was 54.00. I then received another 4 text messages from Walgreens with random not ready, ready for pickup. I then received a voicemail message stating that I needed to bring back my medication immediately if I wanted to be reimbursed; otherwise, I would have to pay full price, since it was too early for a refill. I was upset, because I still have not received my antibiotics or cough syrup. They charged me more than double with the assumption that they would bill my insurance, and isn't it their responsibility not to honor a refill if the date is too early? I don't track my dates of refill.

So I want to file a complaint that they acted unprofessionally, and charged me extra due to their mistake and I still have not received the really strong antibiotics that were needed to start that day. Also, I was told I'd get two text messages and I have received 8.
