Complaint / review text:
I signed up at the Bally branch in downtown Los Angeles in 1995. They offered me a special zero down deal where I pay zero down at first and then make monthly payments with my credit card. A few weeks later, I found out my credit card was billed for close to $2,000. All my questions and complaints regarding this were ignored by the company. They were actually quite rude and dismissive. Luckily, my credit card successfully disputed their faulty claim and the charge was reversed. This was only possible because, while my signature was on the contract, I didn't sign any credit card authorization form, especially not one authorizing them to charge my card for whatever they wanted. What they did (or tried to do anyway) was blatantly illegal.
