Complaint / review text:
Being new to the area, looking for a dentist, I Met the hygienist, Tracy Robinson, at Aspen Dental. She insisted that I needed an evaluation of my gums and she Probed and cleaned my teeth. Probing is when they use a sharp measuring pick and go around your gums to measure the gaps. The trick is not to press too hard when probing otherwise you poke the gums. I did tell her that I was given the bill of health for good gums and teeth from my long time dentist, but she insisted to probe.
Initial probing was fine and painless until I returned ONE month later for follow up. At follow up she reprobed my gums to evaluate change except this time she shoved the probe so far down my gums that I had to get suctioned 3-4 times to remove the blood. Of corse all my numbers jumped 1-2 millimeter. She then gave me a maintenance plan which costs about a thousand dollar and consist all the codes that my insurance does not cover!!! And she can do it all in one session!
By the way, I was on 800mg ibuprofen for 3 days to get over the inflammation and pain of my gums.
I really should sue Aspen Dental per my old dentist who unfortunately is out of state now.
