This happened at the NYC Bally Penta on 32nd St. My locker was clipped open while I was away because another customer mistaken it was hers and when she cannot open it, she asked a Bally staff to clip it open. After the staff clipped it open, the customer realized it was the wrong locker (her locker was right next to mine). The staff left my belongings to this stranger. When I came back from my shower, I realized that I cannot open my locker. The stranger showed up later and said she had Bally clip my locker by mistake. I checked my stuff and the stranger left. I went up and complained to the front desk. The front desk said she did not clip my locker and didn't know who did. I told them that they should not have left my belongings to a stranger when they realized that it was not hers.
She later called the staff who clipped open my locker and started speaking in Spanish (so she did know who clipped my locker after all). She never at once apologized on behalf of Bally and she said there is nothing she could do. When I asked for the manager, she said he was not there. I asked for the person below him and she said it was her. When I asked for my full refund, she told me she can't do it and that I have to call the Bally 800 number. When I signed up for Bally, the CSR told me I can cancel the service anytime I wanted, I do not need to call. This is unacceptable service.
