Complaint / review text:
I went to the Walmart vision center in Pleasanton, CA, to get the nose rests for my 1 year old glasses. Since my frame was a rimless one, I asked if they could tighten the joint as it was bit loose too. The lady at the reception took the new nose rests and went into the room. She came out and said that while tightening the joint, the lens broke, and since the frame was not from Walmart, they don’t know the quality. They were Carl Zeiss lenses. She tried to convince me, as if she cannot do anything, but then she asked that she would check with her manager.
Upon checking with the manager, the manager came and talked to me. I told the manager that this was my primary glasses and I do not have any backup so what should I do? He specified clearly he would replace the glasses for free, but he would need a California eye prescription at my own cost. If I do it in Walmart, it will cost me $58 plus, even if he would speed up the order, it would take at least 3-4 days for the glasses to come in.
I feel that for no fault of mine, I am being forced upon an eye exam and all the unnecessary inconvenience of being without glasses. The Walmart associate did not even get the form signed from me that indemnifies them from any risk of breaking the glasses. I am really cursing myself as to why did I go there in the first place. They were behaving as if they were doing me a big favor by replacing my glasses for free which they actually broke.
