Complaint / review text:
I was online looking for a local dentist because I was needing a cleaning. I was going to go to the dentist that I used to pull my top wisdom teeth but was attracted to price Aspen Dental was going to clean my teeth for.
Let me just put this simple, RUN, RUN, RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! Do not get sucked in with the reasonable prices!!! So I call, make a appointment for a exam and cleaning, which was set for a Monday at 4pm. I get there 15min early and fill out all my paper work.
I was not in the waiting room long... Maybe 10min. Get back there and they do a TON of x-rays. I thought ok, this is fine and thought that they are just wanting to do a thorough exam. Well, I get done with the x-rays, I get taken to another room.
This was the exam room. The dental hygienist came in and poked at my gums calling out numbers, some she did twice. Then the dr came in and looked at my teeth and asked if I had any trouble, I said no, nothing has been bothering me, just in for a cleaning. I have not had a cleaning in a few years, but have been to the dentist for getting a filling fixed that fell out and getting my top wisdom teeth pulled, with NO problems what so ever!
So back to Aspen Dental, so the dr goes on and says that my teeth are in very bad shape and that I will need a root canal and two fillings that need to be fixed. She said that they do not do cleanings on the same day as the exam, even though the lady I made the appointment with said they do that. And I needed to address the other dental work before I get a cleaning and I need to set up a appointment for that work and go over pricing and financing with the office manager. I am one that just goes to running my mouth before I think about it, but this time, I remained calm, I got up while the doctor was there writing, I told her she better just stop writing that I was leaving and was not coming back that this was all bs and a big scam, and I left.
BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!!! I called the doctor I used for my wisdom teeth and made a appoint the very next day for that Thursday. They charged 100.00 for a exam and cleaning, but it is a local and privately owned practice. I get there, he cleans my teeth, says they had some plaque but not a whole lot since I brush pretty good and keep my oral hygiene up.
He does the exam and says everything is perfect, not a THING is wrong! I DO NOT need a root canal and I have NO cavities. I felt something was off at Aspen Dental the whole entire time I was there, I was never comfortable. They pressure you to get dental work that is unnecessary and expensive just for the money.
PLEASE, do not go here! Just pay the money at a local practice where the dentist cares more about YOU then your money! My mouth would be a complete mess if I would have let Aspen Dental touch my mouth any more then they did. Right now I am just thankful I listened to my gut and left.
There are really good dentist that care about you that have payment plans if that is your issue.
I URGE you to call around and find a private practice that is local and not a chain.
