Poor customer service

Complaint / review text:
It takes over 2 weeks for Bankmed to review a claim sent to them. (this has been the case with every claim I have submitted). It then requires you to make at least 2 phone calls to ensure that your claim is paid. So usuall you only get paid a month after you submit your claim.
Then when they do pay, they pay only 60% of the claim because it is not from an approved scheme doctor.

I was with Discovery before and never had one complaint, you would submit a claim, get feedback within 24 hours and a payment within a week.

I have R12 000 in my medical savings account that is going nowhere because to claim is a nightmare and then they won't pay you out in full anyway.

My view is what is in the savings is my money and if I choose to see a doctor that costs a little more than their scheme doctors it is my choice and I may claim that from my savings IN FULL!

What a waste of neraly R6000 pm on medical aid. As soon as I can, I will get my husband to sign up to discovery and become a dependent on his.
