Complaint / review text:
I would like to bring to your attention that I, Simone Lessing have been a client of Discovery Health for more than seven years.
I went to the doctor this week and found out I'm five weeks pregnant. When I tried paying for the consultation, my medical aid said I'm suspended due to non-payment for five months.
I have sent the necessary documents as well as proof of residence, statements, to the accounts to have debit orders taken through my personal account and not through the old business I used to work.
I'm a pregnant woman with no medical due to Discovery Health's own negligence. I could have been in an accident/emergency and rushed to the hospital just to find out I had no medical aid.
My queries are as follows:
1. Why hasn't Discovery Health done the debit order switching?
2. Why hasn't Discovery Health notified me that my medical aid hasn't been payed for over 5 months?
The problems I'm facing now due to Discovery Health negligence:
1. I need to pay an outstanding amount of R8000.00 before the service can be restored and I wont get pregnancy benefits
2. I cant go on another medical aid as I have been blacklisted by medical aids
