I signed up for a subscription for 6 months in September 2014. After trying to cancel my account after 3 months in January, I was told it would not be possible, as I had signed up for 6 months - ok fair enough. So, I cancelled my automatic renewal and received email confirmation of this. So, I was under the impression I now had 3 months left on my subscription and then I would not be charged again without my prior consent. However, I received a PayPal email to notify me of a payment made again for a 6 month subscription. Utterly disgraceful, as if I had missed that email from Paypal, I would not be aware.
On top of this, match.com make it deliberately difficult to contact them on their website. Thankfully, I noticed the email from Paypal. However, there's every chance I might have missed it. As I received clear confirmation of the cancellation, I think that this is nothing short of attempted theft by Match.com, and I wonder how many other people this has happened to without them realising it.
