In Nov 2014 I had the auto renewal turned off. It was a 6 month subscription that was to end in April 2015.in Feb 2015, my Match account was locked. I could do nothing on my profile. I contacted Match. Match said my account had suspicious activity. I asked if it had been hacked and if my account information had been taken. Match would not say what happened to the account just 'suspicious activity'. I gave Match information to unlock my account. Not renew it. Auto renewal should have remained turned off.
My subscription should have been turned off in April 2015. I was SURPRISED to see my bank account had been debited another six months by Match. I called to complain and get my money back, but Match said I had renewed my account in Feb 2015. I tried to explain that I would not have renewed in Feb if the account wasn't going to expire until April. I told them that the only contact I had with Match in Feb was finding out and correcting the lock. NOT RENEWAL.
Now I have to go to my bank to get a credit on my account. I will also contact the BBB and Match corporate offices of IAC which owns several websites. I hope to put in a complaint with the New York attorney generals office as well. This corrupt activity has to be stopped. I am disappointed that Match would be low enough to cause this much trouble for the consumer.
