Complaint / review text:
I have internet service through CenturyLink. It is sketchy at best.
In October my CenturyLink bill included a DirectTV charge for a person who I don't know. I don't even have DirectTV. I called CenturyLink and they said they would take it off my bill and I should just send in the amount I owe for internet. This month I get my bill and I have the same $20 DirectTV charge on it.
I call them again and this time they tell me that I should pay the $20 and they will "credit my account" for the overpayment and "make sure the charge is taken off my account." I explain I don't trust them to credit my account (because of their past unreliable service) and I will only be sending in the amount I owe for internet. Then they tell me that because the way their computer system works that THEY WILL CHARGE ME A $5 LATE CHARGE WHICH THEY WILL NOT BE ALBE TO "" MY ACCOUNT. Then I tell them I want to cancel my service because I have had enough. They tell me if I cancel right now with my account in flux that I will continue to get bills for the $20 and if I don't pay that amount it will probably go to a collection agency AND THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THIS.
As soon as this is cleared up (probably wishful thinking on my part) I am cancelling my account. Anyone who has CenturyLink should immediately cancel their account before they are stuck in a ridiculous situation like I am.
Horrible company, horrible internet service, horrible customer service. Just give the CEO another multi-million dollar bonus.
