I paid a lot of money to get my payments well above the interest accrued monthly on my loan. That way every month most of it will go to accrued interest and then the rest to the principal. I even paid even more than that to get ahead of the excess interest that had already accumulated. (Because no one wants to tell you your minimum payment is less than the amount you're accruing in pure interest so that extra interest just adds up and stacks) So I got rid of it. Tell me how a couple of months down the line after continuously making extra payments that I'm accruing some kind of "unpaid interest" one month it's 50 the next it's 41 then it's 39 then it's 49? This should not be happening if my I got rid of all unpaid interest and my current accruing interest is 56 and I'm paying 75 every time? Sallie Mae is cheap and dirty. I called their customer service and no one could tell me anything to explain that. They said ma'am it's unpaid interest blah blah blah it makes no sense. I will 110% NEVER NEVER EVER in my life return to Sallie Mae for student loans. I'm still in school and this is ridiculous! Worst experience of my small life! Thanks no thanks Sallie Mae!
