Complaint / review text:
I order a cake for my mums birthday from a lady, Janine Du Pisane. On the day of delivery I had sent someone to pick up the cake for me... However the cake was not ready on time and and the person picking up the cake was made to wait for an unacceptable time. Janine then informed me (after many phone calls) that she was sorry that she had been delayed as she had another "emergency" cake she had to do. I believe I was given a sad story about this cake to distract me from the fact that the cake I ordered was delayed. Taking this into account, Janine insisted that the cake had been damaged during transportation. We had exchanged pictures of the cake before and after. She initially agreed on a 50% refund. When I made contact with my banking details she then went on to disagree and never did the refund.
I was more upset at the principles... Having made false accusations about damaging the cake via transportation and promising to refund and then changing her mind saying she contacted "international" bakers... Showing her lack in confidence. I'd just like to warn other consumers.
