Complaint / review text:
I attended Gibbs right after I graduated high school in 2007. I was interested in the Visual Communications program, and was told by the recruiter that there were two options. One being a certificate program, and the other being an Associate's Degree. I opted for the degree, since I was told by the recruiter that the college part of the school had just received their accreditation, and that the credits were transferable.
The first year I was in the school, I was in what was basically an office building in Piscataway, NJ. There was one teacher there that was OK at his job. I actually had another teacher ask me "What the hell are you doing here?" after showing her an essay I wrote in my spare time. The Piscataway building actually closed during my next to last semester. My last semester was at the "Gibbs College" in Livingston NJ, where I was told once those classes were completed I would get my Degree.
Luckily I had a job before I started the school, because I now found out that no one will accept my credits in order to go on to get my Bachelor's Degree. What good is my degree if it doesn't transfer ANYWHERE? I am now $18,000 in debt, and my mother is $19,000 in debt, which would be fine if the education I had was worth it. But it wasn't. I would be happy to be part of a class action suit against this school that flat out lied to me.
