Complaint / review text:
An Automated call came through to me this morning and said they represent the SABC and that my outstanding tv licence had been handed over for debt collection, then put me through to a debt collection agent.
He started asking Me for information, I think debt collectors should at least know who they are collecting debt from.
I told them Im not giving any information over the phone and they can send someone to me in person. If I understand it correctly they have to send someone with an actual hard copy of a summons/notice that you have to sign for before the debt collection process can legally start. (Not Sure)
PS. I've Never owned a TV, I've never given any of my information to the SABC so I think they are just cold calling people or it might be a and people should be warned. I also see on the internet I'm not the only one.
