Complaint / review text:
We incurred an unauthorized charge of $12.95 in our phone bill (bellsouth) for a voice mail service provided by ILD Telesevices. We never signed up for this service nor authorized anybody to do so. We did contact ILD and they promised to cancel this but it would take 2 billing cycles. We contacted Bellsouth and they said this was beyond their control as this was a third party billing. What is our protection then as consumers from being billed for services we do not purchase?
We had to pay the charge incurred so as not to have an outstanding balance in our account, and in the meantime, we have to wait for 2 billing cycles before this is refunded to us.
