Complaint / review text:
Normally I wouldn't post a complaint, but this is the second special order purchase Home Depot has mess up in the last three months. I went into the Home Depot (Ontario Canada) to order some custom flooring.
I brought the sample board to the special order desk. The board has about 10 choices of Bruce Laminate attached to it. There were two sales associates at the desk, one that was placing my order and the other that seemed to be there for entertainment purposes. I showed her which floor I wanted and told her how much I needed.
While she processed the order into the ocmputer, she kept stopping to chat about everything but my floor. I got to hear about how hot it was, how she disliked wearing her HomeDepot apron and how she wished she could come to work without wearing a bra. (Her sidekick kept chiming in comments as well). I took over a half an hour for her to complete what should have been a 5 minute order.
As I left, I checked my receipt to insure that she had ordered the correct colour. Well, long story short, she punched in the wrong SKU number (she used the correct colour name) and voila - 3 weeks later my floor arrived and it's not what I ordered. Now my husband is on two weeks vacation and we have no flooring so we can't complete our reno project as planned. The store manager came to the service desk when I was explaining my concerns and all he said was "mistakes happen".
He made me feel like I was being too critical and he made no apologies for what had happened.
