Complaint / review text:
I have a claim on my house for storm damage. My house is 10 years old and have had State Farm Insurance for as long as i have had my house. This is the only claim i have ever tried to get. They came to my house and told me that they were only going to total out one side of my roof. One side? How can only one side of my roof have hail damage??? The storm dropped golf ball to baseball size hail all over the city and both my neighbors (less than 20 feet on either side of my house) got brand new roofs put on their houses. I was told it was because there were no rips or tears in my shingles on the north side. Nevermind the fact that all the material was missing from the tops of them but the reasoning i was given was because there is no tears or or rips in them they can not damage them out. And then proceeded to tell me that the only reason they damaged out the south side of my roof was because the shingles were is such disrepair that they couldnt tell if it was due to hail damage or not so they just went ahead and damaged out that side??? Also worth noting is the fact that at this same time i found out that my deductable was changed to 1% of the insured value of my house. How this change was made with out my knowledge was beyond me but that was taken out of my claim as well leaving me with about enough money to re roof my dogs 3x3 dog house. Needless to say i WILL NEVER recommend State Farm to ANYONE!
