On 08 Sept 11, I went to my local Wendy's and ordered a Baja half salad paired with an extra chili at 12:23. I had gone through the drive through and decided to eat in the parking lot in my car as the weather was really nice. I mixed my salad together and started to eat. I had about five bites when I got a hold of what I thought was a long piece of lettuce until I began chewing. I felt something rubbing my tongue. I realized that something was not right and I grabbed a hold of what I thought was lettuce. I pulled it out of my mouth only to find out that it was a 10-inch piece of grass! Yes, grass! I was sick. I couldn't believe what I was looking at. I stopped eating. I went back to the drive-through window. I asked for the manager and he came to the window where I had the two blades laid out on the napkin. He said that it was the spring mix. I told him that I was sure grass was not part of the mix!
He then offered to just refund my money. I was so sick to even think about it. I filled out an incident report. The manager said that he had just looked through the mix bags that they got in their order and they appeared to not have any grass in them. He did say that the open bag, the one that I most likely got my salad out of, did have another piece in it. I told him that I was sure that Wendy's was paying too much for bags of grass. He said that all the bags are marked so they could track where it came from and that he would turn in the report.in the mean time, I am sick as a dog and can't even think about eating anything. Yeah, it sounds funny but it is disgusting. I have the pictures to show for it.
