Complaint / review text:
I am currently building a home with Schumacher Homes of Circleville, Oh.
At first things were going fine, but soon after our supposed construction date, delays
And more delays. From what I can see right now, they have no employees that actually
Do any work on houses. Subcontractors (trade partners) are who they use. I have asked several of the subcontractors about things that I feel should be better quality, their reply is that Schumacher only pays for
Extreme basics. I have subcontractors working on my new house, when I asked them about pay that they. Receive, they replied that that are working under the table, I also asked if they are covered under workers compensation insurance, they said that if they got hurt it was their own responsibility. I questioned this, and ultimately found out that Schumacher subcontracts a company that has their paperwork in order with workers comp and appropriate business papers and insurance. However, they in turn subcontract it out to someone else who then finds people willing to work off the street who have some experience, but not much, and will work (under the table) this is my understanding and experiance based on my questions to people that are working at my house. I will update this post. I have many other issues with them but will not post until later due to the fact that I am under contract with them and want my house constructed correctly. I am happy with some aspects of their construction, but they do the very minimum to get by. I have asked my builder to do some things differently because it was not pleasing to the eye. The response that I get the most is " if we do it that way then I cant warranty the home" so I'm sort of over a barrel with these guys, I have plenty construction pics and a journal of issues and problems that I have had that I will reveal after the construction process. I promise that it will be very interesting to those considering Schumacher homes.
