I fell for the "CenturyLink for less" promo on TV advertising DSL at $19.95. I was paying $26.99 for Qwest DSL for years so I thought I would save some money. Well, the first bill came in higher than what I had been paying. Said the phone discounts are not in effect so the bill was going to be $4 higher per month. Next month's bill was the same at $81 for DSL and phone but this month the phone bill jumped 4% to $85. When I called the business office today they said that was just it — I said I did a line by line compare and the big difference is that Centurylink is now charging taxes on promotional discounts whereas in the past this was shown as a credit. The TV promo is misrepresenting savings — there are none! My bill has increased every month for the past several months since I signed up for this 'bargain'. I asked to be returned to my old plan and was told CenturyLink won't do it!
I asked for the FCC and AZ business license number under which CenturyLink operates and was informed no one knew it and did not know how to obtain it. The monthly (higher) bill is what it is...
