I purchased a groupon for a restaurant in Arlington, VA on 4/8/12. When it was time to pay for the meal, I opened groupon on my iphone expecting to get the download with the number for the purchase and found that my purchase was pending. I had to pay the full amount for the meal even though the restaurant could see I had made the purchase. The restaurant groupon remained pending for the entirity of my visit in the area. While still in the area, I sent an email to groupon's about the problem but got no response. I checked my spam folder for 4/8-4/10. When I returned to Atlanta, I called groupon and the customer service woman said they would credit my groupon account and not refund my money. When I expressed concerns without insulting her, she threatened to disconnect. She didn't have to, I did. Groupon has taken my money. This is a consumer rights concern. I'm taking this to the wider Net. You should not be allowed to do this or to have customer service people who do not follow the time old policy, the customer is always right. Where was her concern about the problem groupon caused me, there was none and I had to state my problem over and over again, never once did she say, we are so sorry about our mistake.
